Tips to attract pollinators

  • Variety is key – Different bloom times, different flower shapes and different colors. This will attract
    various types of pollinators to your garden and keep them pollinating from spring thru fall.
  • Choose the right colors – Blue, bright white and yellow appeal to bees. Orange, red and white attract hummingbirds.
  • Plant flowers in clumps –  Clusters of a flower species will be easier to find than scattered flowers.
  • Use native plants – Hybrids are great for gardeners with better disease resistance, bigger flowers and
    unique flower colors and patterns, but this can also make them less attractive to pollinators.
  • Plant herbs – Pollinators love herbs and they are great for people too.
